Sunny Cove Swim Beach

Sunny Cove Swim Beach is a public swim area where the shoreline opens up for a swim and a sit in the sun in Wyoming, managed by USDA Forest Service.

Swim within your limits — most sites have no lifeguard — and watch for drop-offs, currents and cold water.

The surrounding public land supports the usual mix of outdoor recreation, and anglers will find bass, panfish, catfish and other regional sport fish in nearby waters.

This site is good much of the year. Spring and fall bring mild weather and thinner crowds; summer is busiest, so go early in the day in the warm months.

Sunny Cove Swim Beach is reached by public road; follow the site's posted directions for the final approach.

Practice Leave No Trace: pack out all trash, stay on designated routes and roads, and respect posted rules, closures and fire restrictions — bans are common in dry summer months. Keep pets leashed where required and give wildlife room.
