Lost Lake Cabins

Lost Lake Cabins is a public campground in Wisconsin's glacial lake country, managed by USDA Forest Service.

Sites here can be reserved in advance, and the campground books up on summer weekends and holidays.

This is a Public campground for tents and RVs.

Reserve sites ahead through the campground's reservation system; some loops may hold first-come sites.

Fees:

ALERT: Beginning in the 2024 season all guests will be charged a per pet fee / per night of $5.00. This payment must be made prior to occupying the cabin to the host directly or at the billboard located next to the host cabin with a payment envelope and payment box. Please put on the envelope your name, phone number, cabin number, # of pets, # of nights and remittance amount. Payment shall be in the form of check of cash. Thank you.

Summer is the heart of the season here — warm days, long evenings and the fullest amenities, but also the biggest crowds. Late spring and early fall are quieter and often more comfortable; many sites close for winter once the cold sets in.

Lost Lake Cabins is reached by public road; see the campground's posted directions for the final approach.

The surrounding country supports the classic Wisconsin's glacial lake country mix of outdoor recreation, and anglers will find walleye, muskellunge, largemouth and smallmouth bass, northern pike, bluegill, crappie and yellow perch in nearby waters.

Check the weather and any fire restrictions before you go, carry plenty of water, and be bear- and wildlife-aware where applicable. Cell service is often limited at campgrounds — download maps and tell someone your plans.

Practice Leave No Trace: pack out all trash, keep a clean site, and store food securely where wildlife is present. Observe posted quiet hours, fire restrictions and pet rules — campfire bans are common in dry summer months.

Reserve early for summer weekends and holidays, or arrive midday on a weekday for first-come sites. Bring layers, a headlamp, and your own water if potability isn't confirmed, and double-check the rig-length and hookup situation before towing in.
