Tamarack Cabin

Tamarack Cabin is a public campground in the Pacific Northwest, managed by USDA Forest Service.

Sites here can be reserved in advance, and the campground books up on summer weekends and holidays.

This campground is good much of the year. Spring and fall bring mild weather and thinner crowds, while summer is busiest — book ahead or arrive early in the warm months.

The surrounding country supports the classic the Pacific Northwest mix of outdoor recreation, and anglers will find largemouth and smallmouth bass, trout, crappie, catfish and panfish in nearby waters.

Check the weather and any fire restrictions before you go, carry plenty of water, and be bear- and wildlife-aware where applicable. Cell service is often limited at campgrounds — download maps and tell someone your plans.

Practice Leave No Trace: pack out all trash, keep a clean site, and store food securely where wildlife is present. Observe posted quiet hours, fire restrictions and pet rules — campfire bans are common in dry summer months.
