HOW TO MAKE A RESERVATION: Reservations can be made online or through the call center at (877) 444-6777 from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. CST March 1 - October 31, and from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. CST November 1- February 28.
Reservations for peak seasons (Friday before Minnesota fishing opener through October 15) go on sale the previous November 15th at 9:00 a.m. CST.
Reservations for non-peak seasons (October 16 through the Thursday before MN fishing opener) go on sale the previous April 15th at 9:00 a.m. CST.
Best Time to Visit
Summer is the heart of the season here — warm days, long evenings and the fullest amenities, but also the biggest crowds. Late spring and early fall are quieter and often more comfortable; many sites close for winter once the cold sets in.

Safety
Check the weather and any fire restrictions before you go, carry plenty of water, and be bear- and wildlife-aware where applicable. Cell service is often limited at campgrounds — download maps and tell someone your plans.
Regulations
Practice Leave No Trace: pack out all trash, keep a clean site, and store food securely where wildlife is present. Observe posted quiet hours, fire restrictions and pet rules — campfire bans are common in dry summer months.
Tips
Reserve early for summer weekends and holidays, or arrive midday on a weekday for first-come sites. Bring layers, a headlamp, and your own water if potability isn't confirmed, and double-check the rig-length and hookup situation before towing in.
